Statistics and data analysis calculator
Paste a list of numbers and this tool instantly produces a full descriptive-statistics summary: count, sum, mean, median, mode, minimum, maximum, range, variance, and standard deviation (both sample and population). It is ideal for students, researchers, and anyone analysing a dataset without opening a spreadsheet.
What the measures mean
The mean is the average, the median is the middle value, and the mode is the most common value — together they describe the centre of your data. The range, variance, and standard deviation describe the spread: a larger standard deviation means the values are more scattered around the mean.
Sample vs population
Use the sample standard deviation when your data is a sample drawn from a larger group (it divides by n − 1), and the population version when your data includes every member of the group (it divides by n). The calculator shows both. To find the relationship between two variables, try our linear regression calculator.
Frequently asked questions
How should I separate my numbers?
Any mix of commas, spaces, or new lines works. You can paste a column straight from a spreadsheet.
