Business days calculator

This calculator counts the number of business (working) days between two dates, counting Monday to Friday and skipping Saturdays and Sundays. It is ideal for working out delivery and lead times, notice and payment periods, project schedules, and SLA deadlines that are quoted in working days rather than calendar days.

Working days vs calendar days

Many agreements are quoted in "working days" — for example, "delivery within 5 working days" or "30 days' notice". Because weekends are excluded, the calendar gap is always longer than the working-day count. The calculator shows both the working days and the total calendar days so there is no confusion.

A note on public holidays

This tool excludes weekends but not public or bank holidays, which vary by country and region. For an exact figure, subtract any relevant holidays that fall on a weekday within your range. For plain calendar-day counts and date arithmetic, use our date calculator.

Frequently asked questions

Are the start and end dates included?

Yes, the count is inclusive of both dates. If either falls on a weekend, it simply is not counted as a working day.
